Ranga Ram, MD
Dr. Ram is a board-certified psychiatrist with a certificate of additional qualifications in addiction psychiatry. He is a dedicated “holistic” psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating persons with bipolar illness and depression. Dr. Ram began his career as a psychiatrist in India in 1982 and immigrated to the United States in 1988. He completed his psychiatric residency training at the University of Maryland, with research fellowships at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He rose to the rank of Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland. Dr. Ram is currently in private practice and treats patients in a growing multi-disciplinary psychiatric practice in North Wilmington, Delaware
Dr. Ram has co-authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications including book chapters and articles in highly regarded peer reviewed scientific journals. He is a popular speaker and speaks on behalf of several consumer organizations including the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Delaware, New Directions, Delaware, and several other organizations, including pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Ram has been the recipient of numerous awards, including: Professional of the Year by New Directions, Delaware; Exemplary Service Award from the Indo American Psychiatric Association, and a Psychiatrist of the Year Award from NAMI, Delaware.
