Join us for the SUN Continuing Education Series on January 17 as we welcome Rosanne Shaul of SUN Behavioral Houston presenting, Adolescence and Suicide: What Can We Do?

In a 2015 CDC release, almost 15% of teens surveyed reported having made a plan to end their lives. Significant rates of persistent sadness are reported by adolescent populations. As more awareness is brought to the topic of suicide, educational resources for providers, individuals and stakeholders are growing. This growth and ongoing discussion of this topic are vital to supporting the development of our youth. This presentation will discuss identifying warning signs, assessment methods and supportive interventions for connecting at-risk teens and their families to additional support and safety networks. Lunch will be provided.

Rosanne Shaul is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern with experience providing mental health services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
