Virtual Continuing Education Course

SUN Behavioral in Partnership with Nemeth Counseling and Consultation invite you to attend our complimentary Continuing Education Course focusing on Perinatal Mental Health

The Program:

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) impact one in six women across the United States, with a significant increase reported due to the social and emotional challenges of COVID-19. This training will offer an overview of Perinatal Mental Health including prevalence, etiology, types of PMADs, assessment tools, evidence based interventions as well as general information to support clients.


  • Increase awareness of mental health challenges during the perinatal period
  • Increase support for new parents and families through continuing education of mental health clinicians

After completing this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify all three common PMADs
  • Identify one resource for assessment
  • Identify three treatment approaches that can be utilized to address perinatal mental health concerns

Presented by Sara Parko, MSW, LSW

Sara is a License in Social Worker through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Sara received her Master’s degree in Social Work, with a focus in Mental Health and Substance Use practice from The Ohio State University. Sara completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from DePauw University and worked for ten years in marketing. Sara’s work within the community providing advocacy services to sexual assault survivors inspired her to change careers. Sara continues to be passionate about survivor services as well as Perinatal (Maternal) Mental Health. Sara has completed the Maternal Mental Health Professional Training as Phase I of the Perinatal Mental Health Certificate (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International.

This CE will take place virtually via the Zoom app. Once all attendees have registered, we will email a meeting link.
